Paper Tray Selection

Level 1 PostScript Printers - If a level 1 device has multiple paper trays that are software selectable then a Bentley Advanced Map Finishing PostScript file selects the tray according to the paper name selected at the time of printing.

If a paper name from the table is used and the printer does not contain that paper size in any tray then the file does not print. If a name other than one in the table is used, the tray currently selected on the printer or the default is used.

Level 2 PostScript Printers - Tray selection on level 2 devices is determined by the size of the paper used as defined in Bentley Advanced Map Finishing paper setup. The size of the paper has to be within 5 PostScript points (1.764 mm or 0.0694 inches) of the tray selected. If no tray contains paper within 5 points of the paper size selected, the printer does not produce output.
